Quikscribe is the #1 digital dictation and transcription system for attorneys. Compatible with all operating systems and word processing programs. Free thirty day download trial version available.
I have known the creator of Quikscribe (and more importantly, the proprietary .iaf file type), R. Payne, since we first connected way back in 2001! Over the years I've watched as Rod has taken his company from a one man show to what it is today. Quikscribe gets high marks from legal "tech" departments and consultants* far and wide and has grown to an international success.
Firms of all sizes are served well by Quikscribe's ability to be used as an all around digital content dictating/recording/authoring application. Can be used for digital dictation, firm based training and marketing purposes, web based recording and even as a means to capture time stamped interviews of witnesses.
When it comes down to it, two things besides Rod's winning personality make me recommend Quikscribe so highly; it's inherent
Along with inherent security, the best thing about Quikscribe is it's options. Quikscribe was created for 'solicitors' to use in tandem with their staff. Therefore, it was created to be inherently secure, easy to implement and, most importantly, use. It replaces outdated tape based dictation equipment and when paired with a digital recorder, Quikscribe allows anyone to work securely from any internet connection.
Quikscribe wasn't built for a particular practice type. It works as well in one person operations as it does in large, corporate environments and boutique firms.
Quikscribe has had years of feedback, refinement and practical use through e-mail, a network and/or ftp.
But that's not all! lol
The .iaf file does some pretty cool things - the most useful for most attorneys would be the fact that you can block/copy anything directly INTO the .iaf file itself. Think of it. Quikscribe is a desktop resident application meaning you have to install it and use it from the computer on which you work. If you can block/copy content to your clipboard, then you can copy it right into the .iaf file itself. When transcribing the file, your in house or virtual assistant hears a tone, hits the hot keys and whatever you block/copied (text, graphics, web content, etc.) gets placed directly into the active document s/he is creating. How's that for a BYOB COOL factor of 10!?!
This one feature alone drastically reduces the possiblity of errors in quotes and citations as well as speeds up the proofing process.
Here's a quick video that does a decent job of explaining Quickscribe Recorder's functionality:
When you combine the inherent security, all the things you can do with the .iaf file and how easy it is to install and use Quikscribe, you've pretty much got the best software solution for any size firm to upgrade to digital dictation.
